Recently released, the alternative electronic producer, CONT4MIN4TED, easily impresses with their sophomore album, “This Is The Way”. This collection contains a total of 16 tracks, showcasing the producer’s incredible artistry. This acts as the follow-up to the single “Letting Go”.

CONT4MIN4TED, a self-made musician and producer from Gainesville, GA, burst onto the alt-electronica scene in 2023 with their debut album, “Into the Nothingness”. Their music delves into the depths of raw emotion, crafting ever-evolving soundscapes that mirror the unpredictable nature of human feelings. With a blend of dark trip-hop and captivating vocal samples, CONT4MIN4TED quickly captivated listeners who appreciate the likes of Portishead, JES, and Rufus Du Sol. The release received critical acclaim from notable publications such as A&R Factory, The Static Dive, and Stereo Stickman. Notably, CONT4MIN4TED’s single “So Easy” made it to the semifinals of the International Songwriting Competition, amassing over 59k streams on Spotify. Moving forward, CONT4MIN4TED continued to elevate their immersive soundscapes, infusing the energy of EDM with dreamy synths in their sophomore album, “This is the Way”. Talking about the album, CONT4MIN4TED said: “‘This is the Way’ is my second LP, following the first, which allowed me to heal by letting go of my emotional baggage while learning how to write, produce and mix – something I never thought I could do. In retrospect, there was room for improvement, but rather than looking back I found the inspiration to release my second album, filled with resonance and zero constraints in terms of genre or mood. Emotions fluctuate, and so does my music.”

The LP starts off with full electronica as CONT4MIN4TED experiments with alternative elements and really allows the listener in, engaging from the get-go and fully introduces us to the type of experience we can expect from the “This Is The Way” album. As it continues, a female vocalist chimes in around funky beats and techno vibes. Just when we’ve settled into the groove of the album, expecting surprise beats and instrumentals, CONT4MIN4TED throws a spanner in the works with an absolutely incredible male vocal in “Take Me Away”, which really implants this producer into mainstream EDM, allowing them to showcase who they are as an artist. The track is one we plan to listen to, on repeat, with relatable lyrics that speak to us, wrapped around an awesome rhythmic backing track that is determined to make sure you don’t forget about this track.

The album continues the immersive experience, bringing various electro-genre elements throughout the tracks. Trip hop shines effortlessly, gaming techno can also be heard, as well as dark EDM and synthpop. The ninth track, “Harper’s Melody”, is full of heart with an incredible vocal who we presume is Harper Marie McCrary as she is listed as a songwriter on the track. Full of emotion wrapped around high-octane electronic beats and a catchy rhythm, this track stands out for all the right reasons. Throughout the tracks, both male and female vocalists are heard, never fully taking the spotlight, and leaving it all up to the production of the track. If anything, CONT4MIN4TED showcases their genre-defying sound, their versatility as a producer, and their skilful production ability, making “This Is The Way” an iconic album that will stick with every single listener.
