Richard Pryor Junior Responds To Paul Mooney Abuse Allegations

According to a report from BET.com, Richard Pryor Junior is coming out to address claims that he was sexually abused as a child, referring to an incident which happened when he was a young boy. Rashon Kahn, the former bodyguard of Richard Pryor, recently accused Paul Mooney of assaulting Richard Pryor Junior.

Kahn claims that Pryor Senior and Mooney’s relationship began to fall apart around 1986 due to the fact Mooney had sexual relations with Richard’s son around that time.

This past Tuesday, on the 27th of August, TMZ reporters spoke with Mr. Pryor and he claims to have been a victim of sexual abuse a child, however, he didn’t reveal any names. Pryor Junior said to journalists from the outlet that “whatever happened” in his life, it occurred before the 1980s.

When asked if the relationship was consensual, Pryor Junior said that no relationship can be consensual with an adult if the person was a “teenager.” The 58-year-old refused to address the allegations that Pryor had ordered a $1 million hit on Mooney following the revelations of abuse.

In response to the allegations, Mooney said that the claims are untrue because he and Pryor were still hanging out as friends as late as the 1990s. Moreover, his representative stated that Pryor Jr. didn’t reveal the identity of the abuser.

This wouldn’t be the first time the sexual abuse of minors has been brought up in the days following the #MeToo movement which first began in late 2017. This past year, the allegations against R. Kelly and Michael Jackson came to light once again.

Currently, R. Kelly is facing against federal and state charges for the sexual abuse of minors. Michael Jackson, as well, has been put under the spotlight too for supposedly molesting children, with the release of the documentary, Leaving Neverland.

In the documentary, Wade Robson and James Safechuck accused Jackson of sexually molesting them as children. They are the same men, who, as boys, defended Michael in his sexual assault trial in the 2000s before his death.
